Privacy & your data
DRAFT. Written to match how Content Lab actually works today. To be reviewed by Lana, and ideally checked by a legal adviser, before launch.
Content Lab is run by Lana Kearney Social. This explains what we collect, what we do with it, and your choices.
What we collect
- Your account: your name and verified email address, from Google sign-in. We never see your Google password.
- What you give the tools: the description of your account you type into the Idea Generator, answers to follow-up questions, the lists of ideas we create, ideas you save, and any feedback you leave. In Decoder: the scripts, videos and files you upload, the transcript we make from a video, and the reports we write for you.
- Usage: how many times you’ve used each tool, and which access codes or products unlock things for you.
- How you use the site: simple counts such as pages visited and buttons clicked, and where you came from (for example a link from TikTok). This does not include anything you typed or uploaded.
- Purchases: if you buy something, a record of the product, date and payment reference. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never reach us.
How your content is used
Your content is private to you and is used only to give you the result you asked for. Your text, scripts and videos are sent to an AI service (Google Vertex AI, in Google Cloud) to produce your ideas, feedback and AI tool results (scripts, hooks, content ideas and audience profiles), using Lana’s teaching. We don’t use your content to train AI models, and we don’t use it for anything unrelated to your results. Under Google Cloud’s terms, content sent to Vertex AI is not used to train Google’s models without our permission. We don’t sell your data.
What the team can see
The admin area shows usage numbers only: how many people, how many uses, costs, and who is close to a limit. It doesn’t show what you typed, uploaded, or the ideas and reports you were given. We will only look at an individual’s content if you ask us to help with a problem, or if a future coaching service you have signed up to says so and you have agreed.
Who else handles your data
- Google Cloud (hosting, storage, database, AI) in the UK and Europe.
- Google, for sign-in.
- Stripe, which takes payment for the Creator Toolkit and Content Club when you buy them here. Content Club can also be bought through Stan Store, and its community lives on Skool. They have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded videos are deleted automatically after 30 days, and abandoned uploads sooner.
- Decoder results are deleted after 180 days without you using Decoder.
- Idea lists, favourites and AI tool results are kept until you delete them or your account.
- Coaching check-ins and feedback (Content Club Pro) are kept until you delete your account.
- Purchase records are kept as long as accounting rules require.
Your choices
- Delete your account and data any time from your account page. This removes your idea lists, favourites, AI tool results, coaching records, Decoder uploads, scripts, reports and sign-in. We keep purchase records (for accounting), and a small record of your email and how many free uses you’ve had, so that deleting an account can’t be used to get free uses back.
- Marketing emails are off unless you tick the separate box in the Idea Generator to say yes. Creating an account never signs you up.
- You can ask us what we hold about you, or for a correction, by emailing the support address shown on the site.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We store a random ID in your browser to count visits without knowing who you are, and to credit a sign-up to where you came from. We don’t use advertising cookies.
